Footballers, especially the ones on top, are known for the lavish lifestyle they lead. Off the pitch, they have various business interests, including fashion lines, brand collaborations, and sponsorships. From buying huge mansions to other luxurious properties, they have done it all because just one property can’t do for them! They are slowly setting foot in the hospitality industry as well with over the top purchases of some luxurious hotels and resorts.
Recently, Lionel Messi has added the Seasun Fona Hotel to his hotel portfolio, along with other luxury hotels. Ronaldo also owns a couple of them and here is a list of few magnificent properties owned by these gentlemen, respectively.
Hotel Mim Ibiza Es Vive
The 31-year-old had bought this hotel back in 2018 which was specifically for ‘adults only’.
The £525-per-night resort was originally opened as a hostel in 2001 before it was renovated by British designer Sean Cochrane in 2014. The property boasts off a stunning rooftop bar and a majestic pool surrounded by comfortable sun loungers. It is situated at Figueretas beach on the southeastern coast of the Balearic island.
Hotel Mim Sitges
Messi splashed £26m on his first hotel in Sitges, Barcelone in 2017.
The four-star property boasts 77 rooms, five of those being junior suites, while one is a superior suite. It is a 3,300 square foot space which has a swimming pool on the top floor, with a scenic view of the sea and Sitges beach.
Other amenities include a spa that covers a variety of treatments and massages, as well as a VIP DUO cabin for couples treatments and an oxygen cabin. The Sky Bar is a rooftop restaurant which serves yummy food and drinks. The double bedroom cost is £104-per night here.
Hotel Seasun Fona, Majorca
Recently, the star Barcelona player bought his biggest hotel which is a 95-room, 198-bed hotel in Majorca – Hotel Seasun.
The hotel has got a typical Mediterranean feel and is situated by the sandy beaches of S’Illot.
Pestana CR7 Funchal
It’s a budget hotel but has a luxurious 4-star rating, with rooms costing as low as £79 per night. The property situated on the waterfront opposite Funchal’s cruise ship terminal is a short 10-minute walk to the city center and is surrounded by cafes and bars. This 49-room hotel has an amazing infrastructure, including astro-turf lined bathrooms based on a football theme.
The rooftop deck features a sauna, which offers views of Madeira’s beautiful mountain landscapes.
Pestana CR7 Lisboa
Ronaldo opened his second hotel in Portugal in the capital Lisbon. It’s situated in a lovely part of the city, close to the downtown waterfront and therefore perfect for sightseeing, shopping, and bar-hopping.
The property features plenty of Ronaldo memorabilia that adorns the rooms and the reception. The rooms are decorated on the art-deco theme with colourful vibes.
Another interesting feature of this hotel is that it provides complimentary mobile phones to its customers if you need to get online, and you can even take them outside with you! Now that’s the kind of service we are looking for.
