Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has said that everyone at Arsenal wants Arsene Wenger to stay and also said that all the players are right behind him.
A lot has been said about Wenger’s stay at Arsenal and different reports have had different claims this year. However, Wenger, a few days back, himself claimed that an announcement regarding the same will be made “very soon” and if the reports are to be believed, then he is about to stay at the Emirates for another season running.
The Gunners suffered a shocker in their Champions League quest as they were knock out with utter humiliation at hands of Bayern Munich and to add further misery, the star-studded Arsenal line-up lost out to Tony Pulis’ West Brom at Hawthorns past weekend, allowing Manchester United to acquire the fifth spot.
It is quite certain that the former Monaco gaffer is under immense pressure as Arsenal have not won any Premier League honour since 2004, but he has always managed to qualify for the Champions League. However, they could certainly fail this year, for the first time since Wenger’s takeover, as both Manchester United and Liverpool are breathing heavily on each other for the top four finish.
In the midst of this, Olivier Giroud has said that even though a lot of fans and pundit have criticized Wenger’s approach, all the Arsenal players want Wenger to extend his stay.
Arsenal supporters are having mixed emotions regarding Wenger’s tenure as some want him to quit as soon as possible, while some have shown a great support.
Giroud, on his part, while talking to Canal Plus, said:
“We want Arsène Wenger to renew his contract, to continue his adventure, because we support him. We hope we can win the Cup and that Arsenal qualify for the Champions League.”
