Furthermore, Businessman Raj Kundra – the former co-owner of one of the IPL franchisees Rajasthan Royals – was named in All Stars FC previously, but a report from Mumbai Mirror has confirmed his exclusion now. The reason behind this has been cited as Kundra’s antagonism with the BCCI. Rajasthan Royals were given a sustainable ban from the Indian Premier League in 2015 over corruption and match-fixing allegations.
While speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Kundra revealed that he received a call from the organizers of the event and was made clear that he will be excluded from the event, or BCCI will not allow any cricketers to be a part of it. “I got a call from GS Entertainment on Friday evening saying the BCCI will not allow cricketers to participate if I was involved in the event. I asked GS Entertainment to give such a thing in writing but they refused.”
Just in, this will be the second Celebrity Clasico with the first one being played last year. The match ended 2-2 with Yuvraj Singh and KL Rahul scoring for their team. The revenue collected through this event will go to a charity and the football match is an initiative by Cornerstone Sport and GS Entertainment.
