After a summer full of frustration, Chelsea fans may finally see some light at the end of the tunnel with an agreement finally found between the Stamford-Bridge based club and Napoli to make Maurizio Sarri the manager if reports in the Italian media are to be believed. Chelsea are in the market for a new manager as the successor of Antonio Conte, who is expected to be sacked.
Corriere Della Sera, an Italian outlet, is reporting that there is a gentleman’s agreement between Chelsea and Napoli which will allow Sarri to join Chelsea for free. But there is a caveat. The agreement means that Napoli won’t allow Chelsea to sign some of their key players like Raul Albiol, Elseid Hysaj and Piotr Zielinski, all of whom were of great interest to Sarri.

The report also states that Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola will join Sarri’s backroom staff and will become Chelsea’s next assistant manager. The report states that Sarri will be handed an initial two-year contract with the option for an extension of one year. He will be given a salary of 5m Euros with a 1m bonus if Chelsea finishes in the top-4 under him. Finally, the report concludes that Sarri should be announced as the new Chelsea manager next week.
This news would come as a great relief to the Chelsea fans as the club could finally start to bring to fruition their plans in the summer transfer window with many things held up due to the uncertainty in the managerial situation.
