Shaw won the two main prizes at Manchester United’s end-of-season awards ceremony on Thursday night. The English left-back picked up the Man Utd Player of the Year trophy before scooping the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, as voted for by fans.
He has been one of the club’s few bright sparks this season, making 40 appearances in all competitions and winning their Player of the Month prize on three occasions.
The defender picked up the sculpture of Sir Matt for the first time after thousands voted on United’s official app.
Victor Lindelof was second in the voting with Paul Pogba coming third. Lindelof also narrowly missed out on the player-voted award, losing out to Shaw by just one vote.
”It means a lot especially coming from the lads,” Shaw told the audience as he collected his trophies. ‘They’ve always stuck by me when other people haven’t and they’ve always helped me along my rough journey, but it’s brilliant, and of course thanks to them all for voting.”
Shaw was present at the awards night with his partner and the couple looked delighted as they walked down the red carpet.
The award night also saw some of the other football WAGs in attendance who totally sizzled on the red carpet.
Paul Pogba was spotted wearing all black alongside partner Maria Salaues who was clad in a shimmery black dress and strappy footwear. She recently gave birth to their first child.
Anthony Martial and partner Melanie Da Cruz – sporting a stylish silver number – were also in attendance, with the Frenchman’s future at the club in the balance.
David De Gea – another facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford – was seen turning up to the glitzy bash in a black tux with partner Edurne who was seen wearing a pastel pink gown with cape-sleeves and feather detailing in the front.
The Argentine professional footballer was also in attendance looking dapper in his black suit. He was spotted alongside his partner.
The goalkeeper for English Premier League club Manchester United was seen sharing the red carpet with his partner Eliana Guercio.
While Sergio Romero was besuited in an all-black look, his partner was shining in a metallic dress and silver heels. Both of them looked amazing as they walked down the red carpet hand-in-hand.
Phil Jones was spotted on his arrival with his gorgeous wife Kaya Hall who sizzled and looked summery in a yellow draped dress.
Norwegian football manager of Manchester United Solskjer was also seen making his presence with wife Silje who looked graceful in a dark green dress with a shimmery blazer thrown over her shoulders.
Mata wore a tux and his partner Evelina Kamph wore a long silk burgundy dress. They were joined by Herrera and pregnant wife Isabel Collado, who wore a glamorous red outfit and looked gorgeous.
Apart from the couples, there were few stag entries as well. In full attendance, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Chris Smalling took to the red carpet as a triple-threat – all dressed in their best black tie-wear – looking dapper and all spruced up.
Meanwhile, seen flying solo was £505,000-a-week star Alexis Sanchez who arrived alone at the event night looking sharp in his three-piece suit.
