Carlos Mourino, Celta Vigo club president, earlier this week, confirmed that the club are not to happy about losing star frontman Nolito.
Nolito has been in a prolific form which earned him a call-up to the Spanish side for the Euros. His 12 goals in 29 Liga games have helped Celta Vigo secure the 6th position in the table as well as qualify for the Europa League.
The club had previously declared that the Spaniard, who was on Barcelona’s transfer target list in January, would remain at Celta for the near future. The 29-year-old has a price tag of about £14-15m and any club willing to shell out that kind of cash can attain his services.
The Celta chief went on to say:
“There are no numbers, no negotiations. He has a buyout clause of €18m. Who pays it, can sign him.
“Nolito is playing so good and is a player who we have had a lot of advantages from. He was in a second line and we knew how to recover him.
“If anybody pays us the €18m we will lose an important player, but we will have money that we have never had before to boost the squad for next season.”
