As Roma midfielder, Radja Nainggolan has admitted that teammates, Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have insisted that the Belgian international come join Chelsea.
The players have been training together before this summer’s European championship starts and therefore dressing room talks can prove to be influential in decision making.
It is also notable that Nianggolan is a long time Antonio Conte transfer target and reports of a previous meeting between the Italian and the 28-year-old regarding a transfer have only fortified speculation as to his future in Rome. However, Roma have set a price of £32m for the signature of their vital midfielder and Chelsea will have to do better than a £23m offer they previously had rejected.
Radja Nainggolan, on speaking to the press said “He already wanted me when he was the Juve manager, but I’d already said I would never leave Roma for Juve. Now he tries to get me to Chelsea. Conte told me what he expects from me and what type of player I can be for him. I’ll never be a player who’ll score 20 goals or give 20 assists, I’m not the one who’ll be in the picture all the time. I can be important for a team. A manager who appreciates that is important for me. But they [Hazard and Courtois] have also told me to join them.”
