Chelsea’s Brazilian wide forward Willian on Tuesday poured cold water on speculation linking him with a move away from the English football club.
Willian is due to return to training with Chelsea on Wednesday and he does so after a wave of rumours linking him with a move away from the London based club in the wake of his impressive World Cup.
Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Manchester United have all been reported to have either made or to be considering offers for the 29-year-old, but in declarations to the Brazilian website Globo Esport, he insisted he didn’t want to leave Chelsea.
“I am not moving, I am happy at Chelsea and living in London…I am very happy living in London,” declared the forward.
This comes as a great sigh of relief for Chelsea given the likes of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have been linked away from the club, with Real Madrid credited with a heavy interest. There were also rumours that the European Champions were to weighing up a joint offer for Willian and Thibaut Courtois, but it is thought to be put down to drain.
Meanwhile, if Willian is to stay at Chelsea, a move for Manchester United’s Anthony Martial to the Stamford Bridge is thought to be drained as well. There were claims that United and Chelsea were working on a swap deal regarding the two wingers, but these claims can well and truly be dumped now.
Willian was due to return to Chelsea earlier than Wednesday, but the delay is caused due to him failing to renew his passport.
