Known for his superb ability on the football field and goal scoring talent, Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the most talked about players in the football fraternity. Playing for Real Madrid, he has scored a lot of goals for his club as quoted by the manager Zinedine Zidane.
“He’s always played out on the flank. That’s his natural position. I’m sure he will score goals. He can play in a variety of positions because he’s an outstanding player. But he prefers playing out on the wing. That’s where he’s scored 300, 400 goals.”
“I’m pretty sure there’ll be another game or two when he’ll be rested. But he’ll play on Wednesday, definitely.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has played in a number of positions this season. With Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata struggling to make much of an impact in the initial stages of the season, Ronaldo was used up top with great effect.
Earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo received FIFA’s best player of the year award on Monday. This is the fourth occasion when the Portugal player bagged the honour. Portugal won the Euro 2016 title while his franchise team Real Madrid won the major European title last year.
Ronaldo got 34.54 percent of total voting points in a 23-candidate ballot whereas, Messi received 26.42 percent.
“2016 was the best year of my career,” hailed the Portuguese in his speech. Ronaldo’s 2016 trophy haul included the European Championship, Champions League, and Club World Cup, plus individual best player awards from UEFA and France Football magazine.
