Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a severe knee ligament damage during Manchester United’s game against Anderlecht at Old Trafford. Considering the footballer’s age, Jose Mourinho stated that his recovery is expected to be difficult and the real focus is on his rehabilitation rather than the idea of him playing again. Mourinho further stated that he is concentrated on the team and will see through missing both Zlatan and Marcos (who also sustained an injury) from the team.
A ton of get well soon messages came on Twitter to show support for Zlatan. Kurt Zouma, for example, sent a message saying, “Get well soon. I know the feeling you have now as you know it happened the same to me. But you’re strong!” Zlatan replied to his fans and seemed to be confident about the future, with his tweet ending with, “I will go through this like everything else and come back even stronger. So far I played with one leg so it shouldn’t be any problem.”

First of all, thank you for all the support and love. Its no news I got injured so I will be out of fotball for a while. I will go through this like everythings else and come back even stronger. So far I played with one leg so it shouldn’t be any problem. One thing is for sure, I decide when its time to stop and nothing else. Giving up is not an option. See you soon
Meanwhile, Malmo supporters showed their own novel way to bring support to Ibhrahimovic, with a sign at a stadium that read, ‘Get well Zlatan – you can play in the Swedish league with one knee’. Ronaldo posted on Instagram saying, “Ibra, my positive thinking is that you have a good recovery, and come back even stronger as you wish.”
