Manchester City defender John Stones has split up with his childhood sweetheart Millie Savage, who is also a mother to his 18-month-old daughter. The defender moved out of their Cheshire mansion soon after the Christmas period and is currently residing in a £6,000-a-month apartment in Manchester.
The couple, who has been together since 15 years of age, bought the property two years back, and while Stones has moved out, Millie has reportedly stayed put. Their mansion, which is reportedly worth £3.4million, has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a gym, a home theatre, a gaming lounge and a full-size pool table.
Stones’ decision has come out of nowhere and while speaking about it, a source close to the couple is quoted by The Sun as saying, “She’s devastated. He left with no real explanation. They had a lovely home and seemed to have settled down as the perfect family.”
John and Millie met at the tender age of 12 at the Penistone Grammar School, South Yorks, and started dating three years after. The couple has seen their ups and downs over the years, as it was in 2016 that an event manager Jessica Peaty claimed to have an affair with the defender. She said that Stones told her, he and Millie have split and their friendship started to grow after he asked for her telephone number.
She went on to add that they began to meet at his suite in the Lowry Hotel in Manchester before she heard him saying ‘I love you’ to someone else on his mobile phone. Things went ugly from thereon, but Millie with her soft heart forgave her man, and the defender proved his loyalty by getting ink of her portrait on his right arm.
As things stand right now, the defender has reportedly begun the process of removing the ink, hence stating that the split is permanent. The news of their split though has hit hard to Millie’s mother Mandy. While speaking about it to the Daily Mail, she broke down in tears. “We are absolutely devastated. John was like another son to us,’ said Mandy.
Asked how her daughter was coping, Mandy said: “She has good days and she has bad days.”
