Jay-Z’s Roc Nation sports is slowly moving towards the European tournaments and signing deals with some of the top players. Their most recent signing is Manchester City and Belgium midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne. He has become the third player from the premier league to sign for Roc Nation after fellow Belgian teammate, Romelu Lukaku, and Eric Bailly who plays for the red half of Manchester.
The signing of De Bruyne, who was previously represented by J&S International, is by far the most significant signing for the American-based sports brand. As it is based in America, most of their players in the clientele hail from American baseball, football, and basketball. However, the company is growing and spreading its hands across Europe at a thick pace.
Kevin also took to his Instagram to break the news of his collaboration with the sports company, the caption on his post read: Incredibly excited to announce that I’m officially joining the @rocnationsports family! Can’t wait to show you guys what lies ahead. #RocFam.
The company initially originated as an Entertainment company for Jay-Z but slowly branched out into Roc Nations Sport as well. It is an agency that takes care of commercial deals, media relations, and brand strategy for the clients. Some of the top clients include NBA star Kevin Durant, boxer Miguel Cotto, and another footballer Jerome Boateng.
The company was also clearly delighted with the signing of Kevin De Bruyne and posted this picture on their Instagram. The caption read: The ⚽ #RocFam just got a lot bigger 🙌 We’re thrilled to welcome @kevindebruyne to the #RocNationSports family!
De Bruyne joined Roc Nations, who are closely associated with Puma, quickly after Lukaku and Bailly. Both of them are also associated with Puma and so is De Bruyne’s club Manchester City. Does this hint towards a move from Nike to Puma for the midfielder?
