Napoli FC has just partnered with Tinder, in a first ever move by a football club. 23-year-old centre forward Arkadiusz Milik will be set-up on the app to give fans a chance to hook up with him. While some speculate that the move is strange, the club claims that it will offer a great chance for fans to meet the man in person as a kind of personal meet-up with a celebrity.
Napoli fans will also be able to use the app to connect with Milik to send him support before he returns from his injury. Milik was signed by Napoli following a career with Ajax FC, but a knee ligament injury in October kept him away from the game for a majority of this year’s season.
Milik commented on the move by Napoli, saying, “I’m really proud to be part of this unique and innovative initiative with Tinder. The fans here have always given me a warm welcome and it’s really amazing to be able to interact with them directly. Technology brings people together, just like sports, and I look forward to starting this new adventure.”
Milik was one of the top-scorers in the Eredivisie league in his career with Ajax FC, he also plays for Poland and was in the national team that entered the quarter-finals stage of the UEFA Euro 2016.
