Tiger Woods seemed to have risen from the dead to win a Masters title after he was ruled out by almost everyone. His famous victory brought not just the golfing world but the entire sporting world to a standstill. The victory was extremely special for Tiger as he fought multiple life atrocities to win his 5th Masters.
While Tiger and all his fans rejoiced the victory, there was one person who probably enjoyed a lot more than other onlookers. We are talking about James Adducci.
James Adducci is the man who bet a massive $85,000 on Tiger to win the Masters at an odd of 14-1. The Wisconsin man did not believe his luck when Tiger won, earning James a whopping $1.2 million.
James placed his bet at William Hill and the winning money went on to become the largest payout on a futures ticket in their US history. After reaping huge benefits, James was back at William Hill to place another bet. This time the bettor has planned to put $100,000 on the line with the odds at 100-1. James has placed this money on Tiger Woods to win the Grand Slam.
While talking to Golf Digest, he said:
“Tiger has history winning at Bethpage, and he won at Pebble, by the biggest margin in history. This is a very unique situation. That’s the way I’m thinking about it. We know that with every win, the energy level will get amped up. His game gets elevated. The expectation—does he play well under pressure? He’s the definition of excelling under pressure. That’s how my brain works.”
If he goes on to win the bet then it will result in him winning $10 million, which will be the biggest amount won in the entire sports betting history. The odds are against the man, but they were against him the first time around as well.
As for the stats, no golfer other than Bobby Jones has achieved a quadrilateral clinch. Tiger does have what we know as the “Tiger Slam,” holding all four majors but it is going to be an uphill task for him as well.
