The Mumbai leg of Pro-Kabaddi League is over and the home team U Mumba registered 4 wins out of 6 matches, the best performance by any team in its home leg in this season so far. While Siddharth Desai and Fazal Athrachali have been scoring points for fun, the rest of the team have also been doing a great work in both offense and defense.
Siddharth has been the find of the season and has been scoring points for fun to lead the points table with 131 points. Darshan Kadian is another raider in the team who has been giving great support and shouldering the burden of scoring points alongside their star raider.
Darshan Kadian who made his debut last season with U Mumba showed signs of brilliance last season with the limited opportunities given under stewardship of Anup Kumar. Inspite of mixed performance the victories were hard to come by for the Mumbai side.
This season Darshan is making use of the opportunities given and has been playing the role of supporting raider to perfection.

Alongside Abhishek Singh, both the raiders have took the pressure off Siddharth Desai who had been destroying the opposition defense single-handedly so far. Darshan was the team’s top raider in the last two matches of the home leg against the Bengaluru Bulls (9 points) and the Tamil Thalaivas (6 points) and with that, he also staked his claim to be the supporting raider to Desai.
U Mumba’s defence also has stepped up their game when the team needed points at a crucial juncture and this season it has been Surender Singh who has improved his performance by leaps and bounds. In the 13 matches so far he has scored 36 points.
In the home leg, he began slowly in the first 3 games but it was the 4th match against the UP Yoddha that he unleashed himself stopping the opposition’s raiders from scoring points and gather his first High-5 of the season with 7 tackle points. He followed it up with another High-5 against the Bengaluru Bulls.
An improved performance from these two youngsters in the home leg enabled the team to top their zone with 56 points from 14 matches.
