The 6th season of Pro-Kabaddi League has seen some amazing close matches and some new stars emerging this season. While experienced players have been suffering ups and downs in their performance, some fresh faces have lit up the league with some dazzling performance on the mat.
Today we look at three raiders, who have been a thorn in the flesh of defenders in this seasons league.
This has been the season to remember for the raider from Kolhapur who has single-handedly destroyed opposition defense and led his team U Mumba to victory. The 26-year-old, with 131points from 10 matches, is on the top of the points table and is also the favourite to win the green sleeve (given to best raider) this season.
With a young raiding side, U Mumba was giving an outside chance of making a winning start to the season, but the team has proved the critics wrong as both the units (defense and raiding) have been working like a well-oiled unit.
With 8 super tens in 12 matches, this man has been the biggest threat for his opponents. With couple of legs still to go before the grand final, U Mumba will be hoping their star raider to keep the consistency of picking up points and leading team to victory.
Pawan Kumar Sherawat
The 22-year-old has been the star for Bengaluru Bulls this season taking off the pressure from their skipper Rohit Kumar. Pawan has so far scored 124 points in 10 games to put his team in strong position in the points table.
His 124 points included six super raids and ability to remain calm in pressure situations and score points at crucial juncture has also been vital for his side. He has also turned out to be a valuable asset while defending scoring 7 tackle points.
While Chandran Ranjit has been impressive with his raiding for Dabang Delhi, eighteen-year-old Naveen Kumar also has put his best foot forward scoring 89 points from 11 games so far. He also has four super tens to his name this season.
He along with Ranjit has been the backbone of Delhi’s raiding department and his ability to play supporting raider has been vital in Delhi’s performance so far.
