Indian kabaddi star Rahul Chaudhary has been driven into a controversy after his brother and also his PRO Rohit Kumar had announced earlier that he has been selected in the World Cup squad starting from October 15 to October 29 in Ahmedabad.
The Kabaddi Association cleared the air surrounding the announcement of the kabaddi squad. The notice issued by the association read, “Rahul has been selected for the Kabaddi World Cup camp, but his spot in the Indian team for the same has still not been finalised. The process is still underway.”
Rahul’s brother took a U-turn over his statement when he said that he was confused and what he actually meant is that Rahul was selected for World Cup camp. He clarified, “I was confused. I am deeply sorry for the previous statement. The selection for the team is still not final. My brother has only been selected for the World Cup camp. We are hoping for the best.”
Aravind Singh, district kabaddi association secretary said that Rahul is currently in Gandhinagar. He added, “Rahul is presently attending this camp in Gandhinagar. He is a good Indian kabaddi player. We are waiting for the team to be formed after the World Cup.”
This episode is a learning lesson for other kabaddi players for not going overboard with their statements in media.
