Two Boxers, two weeks and two arrests! This might throw a light a bit on what exactly was happening behind the grand stage of Rio Olympics. The grand event was full of controversies and was a bit humiliating for India – mainly due to the doping charges.
But all in all, there were many cases besides the aforementioned charge and a 22-year-old Namibian light welterweight Jonas Junius, who served his country’s flag in the opening ceremony of the tournament, was accused of forcing himself on a maid and was arrested by the Brazilian police.
As per the police officials, Jonas forced himself on the maid and tried to kiss her and also offered her money to sleep with him. The welterweight was arrested and was sent to Brazil’s Bangu prison right away. He was about to enter the ring just two days after.
Ironically, this was not the only incident of the tournament as just two days back, Hassan Saada of Morocco was arrested due to same allegations. The Moroccan reportedly assault two waitresses of the Olympic village.
