Moving around in a city has now gone from walking to gliding. What we are talking about is the emergence of electric scooters that are making short commutes and random expeditions a lot smoother. These scooters are particularly popular amongst tourists going around the city.
One such scooter is now being promoted by Usain Bolt. He is an investor as well as a promoter for the company. While he might be a lot faster than the scooter – even at its top speed, it still does a great job. Bolt Mobility is a Miami based startup that started back in 2018 and they are slowly making a name for themselves in the e-scooter market with their expansion.
The company is expanding its services to Paris and it’s brand ambassador, Usain Bolt, is in town for the launch event. He posted the picture (on the left) on his Instagram announcing his excitement for the Paris launch. His caption read: **BONJOUR PARIS** So happy to be in Paris to officially launch Bolt Scooters@bolt_now in France #Trottinettes #Micromobilty #freefloating
As for the company, they have launched in multiple cities and function on a mobile app that allows you to book or rent the scooter. According to a press release by the company, every scooter has swappable batteries, phone chargers, cup holders, space for backpacks, purses and shopping bags as well as parallel foot pads.
“I am an Olympic athlete. They call me the fastest man on earth. One thing is for sure: I run. I run everywhere,” Bolt said in a statement. “I have run in cities all over the world, and I can tell you first hand that traffic is getting worse and worse in every city on every continent on earth. The air quality is also getting worse, and I feel that now is the time that we must do something about it. That’s why I am so proud to be an advisor and investor of the Bolt Mobility electric scooter – a mode of transportation that will truly change the way people move.”
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that it was a great move by the company to get Bolt on board to promote a product that is all about lighting and movement.
