Genie Bouchard gave the sporting world a story of a lifetime when she went on a date with a guy against whom, she lost a bet on Twitter. In 2017, the Montreal-born blonde predicted an Atlanta triumph on Twitter with the Falcons ahead 21-0 and her suitor pitched a date if the Patriots rallied to win. Bouchard agreed, only to then see Tom Brady lead the Patriots to a 34-28 comeback triumph in the Superbowl final. Her date was John Goehrke, a 20-year-old University of Missouri student and New England Patriots, supporter. Bouchard kept up with her word and took her date a then 20-year-old student to a basketball game in New York.
The fairy-tale story is now set to be turned into a Hollywood flick, with Bouchard herself confirming the news on her Instagram account.
Bouchard wrote, “A movie about this crazy story that happened to me?! What is life. Welcome to Hollywood @john.goehrke 😏”
According to a report in media outlet Deadline, the movie will be produced by Fox 2000 and will be a romantic comedy. The idea was pitched by Jonathan A. Abrams and Genie Bouchard is already on board, serving as an executive producer for the flick.
The report states the movie is based on, “Dating and love in the modern digital age, asking if a relationship born on social media can survive the glare of the public eye.”
So, Genie Bouchard is indeed going Hollywood, after all!
