No matter what you throw at them, women are unstoppable. And that’s the message Ananya Birla wants to spread across with her recently released music video which goes by the name – Unstoppable.
The Indian singer’s new single with the title ”Unstoppable”, suggests that it’s all about celebrating women being strong and limitless. The video which went live on Friday is directed by Karishma Chavan and is definitely the new anthem for women.
The video features 14 women from across industries who are inspiring in their own way. From India’s ace boxer Mary Kom, tennis star Sania Mirza, former badminton player Aparna Popat and actress Juhi Chawla, these beautiful and strong women have come together for the pop star’s new single.
Apart from the mentioned names, it includes Neerja Birla, Pooja Hegde, Gabriella Demetriades, Kanika Kapoor, Anusha Dandekar, Sukriti Kakar, Karishma Chavan, Malini Agarwal and Falguni Peacock.
They are seen performing to Ananya’s vocals and breaking walls which have a few negative tags sprayed painted on them like ‘you can’t do this’, ‘weak’, ‘impossible’, etc. It signifies that these strong-headed women are literally breaking the barriers which hinder their growth and they still move ahead with confidence because they are ‘unstoppable’. The lyrics are empowering too which read- “I believe in breaking all the rules.”
Ananya stated, “This is a feel-good anthem, which I wrote taking inspiration from my mom. I penned it in 2015 and I am finally being able to release it with women that I find to be very inspiring.”
She further added, “The idea that society underlines our gender norms should not restrict us from working towards what we want to achieve. I truly believe that your gender doesn’t define you, and being yourself makes you unstoppable. This video showcases women who have overcome gender role expectations. I hope people can watch this and feel empowered, free and unstoppable.”
Ananya Birla is signed to the Universal Music Group India and is supported by Island Records, UK. She holds the record for being the first Indian artiste with an English single to go platinum – as per the Indian Music Industry (IMI) recognized criteria for certifications.
With this inspiring video, the girl has surely made a statement.
More power to all these beautiful and strong women!
