It was on October 30 that Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik got the best present of their lives; their son Izhaan (which means God’s gift) Mirza Malik was born. And it took almost two months for their fans to get the first glimpse of their little one.
The Indian Tennis ace took to Instagram and while sharing arguably the most adorable picture, she wrote, “Living life in the fast lane can be fun !!! It’s time to say hello to the world #Allhamdulillah.”
Talking to the Times of India a few days back, the 2015 Women’s Doubles’ Wimbledon winner was asked, unlike many other star kids, why Izhaan has got no social media presence and her answer was simple and subtle.
“Maybe you’d call it a little old school or even silly, but I believe in bad nazar (evil eye). He’s going to have his share of attention growing up, Shoaib and I decided that we should protect him as much as we can, for as long as we can. We didn’t want to share or post pictures on social media, we felt he was too young to be out there. This does not mean I’m being critical of people who have posted or shared their children’s photographs on social media, to each his own,” Sania told TOI.
The 32-year-old has been out of action since 2017 however, she is planning in marking a return in 2019.
