Ben Stokes
Englishman Ben Stokes is one of the greatest all-rounders around in world cricket right now. A hard-hitting middle-order batsman and a skillful right-arm seamer — Stokes has been a backbone of the England side across formats for quite sometime now. Till date, the all-rounder has nine centuries and 168 wickets in international cricket across all three formats. He is an emotional individual and as a cricketer Stokes is never afraid of taking any sort challenge and he injects the self-belief in the team as well.
Though in his career, Stokes had to face a lot of up and downs. We all still remember the 2016 Twenty20 World Cup final in Kolkata when he had to defend 19 in the last over against West Indies but he missed his length and Carlos Brathwaite smashed four successive sixes into a sweltering night sky. Recently, Stokes missed the last Ashes series in Australia as the Durham boy was charged with affray by Avon and Somerset Police for a brawl outside a nightclub in Bristol. He made a comeback in the side in the ODIs series in New Zealand.
In the 2018 Indian Premier League Stokes was the highest paid cricketer as Rajasthan Royals spent 12.50 crore INR to secure his services.
