Conor McGregor will soon face the biggest challenge of his MMA career when he will return from his hiatus at UFC 229. He will face off against one of the most dangerous MMA fighters in the world, Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC Lightweight championship. The contest between the two has been dubbed as a dream match and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 6.
Despite undergoing some rigorous training ahead of the fight, the ‘Notorious One’ has now taken some time out of his busy schedule to launch his own brand of Irish whiskey ‘Proper No 12’. McGregor initially wanted to name his whiskey Notorious but the trademark belonged to another producer.
McGregor then decided to name the brand ‘Proper No 12’ paying tribute to the Dublin suburb of Crumlin where he grew up.
McGregor said on the launch of his whiskey, as quoted by The Sun, “I wanted to make an Irish whiskey emblematic of Irish culture as a whole, and something that would showcase the great skill we possess of distilling the best whiskey in the entire world. One of the many amazing skills we possess on this great island.”
Each bottle of whiskey will cost £39.95 in Britain with £3.80 from every crate sold going to various charities.
