WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey divided opinions as soon as she marked her presence during the Elimination Chamber on Sunday. The reason you ask? Well, keeping aside her regular outfit for the pay-per-view event, The Rowdy One decided to unleash Sonya Blade withing herself, cosplaying the character from the upcoming video game Mortal Kombat 11.
Well, if you have been following Rousey’s career of late, you might know the answer for why Mortal Kombat. But in case you don’t, you need to know the association because the game is all set to hit the market in April 2019. And Rousey, on her part, has voiced Sonya Blade.

“I tried to grow up to be Sonya Blade as close as I could,” she explained during the announcement of the game back in January. “I feel like if Raiden came down right now and had to pick three warriors for Mortal Kombat, I would definitely be that person!”
Don’t care what anyone says, that Sonya Blade ring gear on Ronda Rousey is straight 🔥 #WWEChamber

So it was obvious to see the 32-year-old doing some cross-promotion thing ahead of the launch, but that has left the WWE universe dividing opinions. While some are loving it, others are yet to get over their obsession with Bridgette Wilson, who played Sonya’s character in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film.
Looks more like she's trying to copy the shield

However, the reaction was, she got a massive thumbs up from her co-star Zelina Vega, who took to Twitter to praise Ronda’s attire. She quoted, “My girl Ronda Rousey looked AMAZING as Sonya Blade tonight. Your Jade is waiting for ya when you ready ;).”

Meanwhile, as far as her match against Ruby Riott goes, it remained an easy victory for the former UFC star. The aftermath, however, remained the only highlight of the event, which eventually led to the suggestions that there could well and truly be a Triple-Threat main event at WrestleMania 35 between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.
