Rami Sebei, more famous as Sami Zayn, is a Canadian professional wrestler, who has performed for various wrestling promotions. He is presently signed to WWE and performs in its ‘RAW’ with the ring name, ‘Sami Zayn.’
In recent news, a week before Money in the Bank 2019, WWE Raw kicked off with Roman Reigns appearing on ‘Miz TV’. The biggest shock of the night occurred when Sami Zayn defeated Braun Strowman and earned the right to replace him in the men’s Money in the Bank match.
In the main event of the night, The Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match picture was shaken up in a major way in Raw’s main event, when Sami Zayn rode an assist from Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre to defeat Braun Strowman in a Falls Count Anywhere Match where The Monster Among Men’s “Money” berth was on the line.
While the wrestler rejoices in his victory, we share some interesting facts about him that probably even the hardcore WWE fans might not know.
He was once banned from NXT’S locker room

During an interview, Sami Zayn and another NXT alumnus, Neville, shared a story about backstage antics. They referred to themselves as troublemakers because of an instance where they got soccer banned from being played backstage during their time in NXT. Both were told that issue was that of ‘health and safety’.
They never got into details as to what may have specifically led to the ban, but it does sound somewhat suspicious. Soccer is hardly a game where the health of others is at stake, so whatever it was that took place, it may have been a case of Zayn and Neville simply trying to have fun than anything else.
Huge Punk and Rock fan

Sami Zayn is a huge punk rock fan. Once, he had a backstage pass to a Guns N’ Roses show, and the band’s guitarist Bumblefoot approached him and asked if he plays, to which Zayn replied that he did. Bumblefoot handed him a guitar and said ‘go at it.’ Later during the show, Zayn somehow ended up on the edge of the stage dancing. Between songs, Axl came off for a wardrobe change; immediately afterwards, a security guard told Zayn to ‘cool it with the dancing.’
His Syrian Connection

Although Sami is billed from Canada in the WWE, he actually has his roots in Syria. He often sports Arabic writings on his wrestling pants, and he once came out wearing a ‘Free Syria’ t-shirt to show his support for the war-torn country.
Featured in Video Games
Sami’s character has been featured in several videogames including in WWE 2K15, WWE 2K16, and WWE 2K17. The WWE entrance theme of Sebei was played every time the Edmonton-based professional ice hockey team, ‘Edmonton Oilers,’ became victorious on home ice during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
