Kurt Angle has already established his legacy as one of the greatest athletes and performers to have ever stepped inside the squared circle. In his prime, no one caught on to the business quicker than the former Olympic Gold medalist in freestyle wrestling who accomplished the feat with a broken freakin’ neck at the Atlanta Games. Talking about his relationships, Kurt has been married two times in his life. He first married Karen Smedley in 1998 and with her, he has two kids, including his eldest daughter Kyra who accompanied him during his Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Kurt divorced Karen in 2008 and she then married Kurt’s colleague in TNA, Jeff Jarrett.
Kurt then got engaged to Giovanna Yannotti in 2010 to eventually get married in 2012. The pair has three daughters together. He met Giovanna on the sets of his 2009 movie ‘End Game’ and the pair immediately hit it off.
Kurt also has four brothers David, Mark, Eric and Johnny. One of his brothers, David, was convicted of murdering his wife and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. This brought about a great deal of infamy and spotlight on the Angle family.
Kurt also had a long issue with substance issue and drug addiction throughout his career. Kurt eventually got sober and credited his family for it. He is open about his past addictions and is actively involved in social causes in order to rehabilitate addicts. He opened his own app named ‘AngleStrong’ to help out addicts.
Recently, Kurt also made strong appeals on social media after news broke out that his niece was kidnapped allegedly by her ex-boyfriend. Thankfully for the Angle family, she was found safe and sound.
