As reported earlier by Sportswallah, it is less wrestling, more movies for John Cena. Just recently, the 41-year-old was linked with a supposed role in the movie Suicide Squad 2.
Then, he was supposed to be the replacement for WWE wrestler Dave Bautista, who backed out of the role due to a busy schedule (at least that’s what we know). The role was/is just about perfect for John as it is all about mass and comedy. John has also played similar roles and achieved success with films like Trainwreck, Ferdinand, Daddy’s Home, and Bumblebee, among others.
While the role for Cena in Suicide Squad 2 is still not confirmed, there is something that might be on the cards for sure.
Fast and Furious megastar Vin Diesel, who has been a part of the six out of eight franchise movies, posted a video on Instagram that hinted towards the inclusion of John Cena in the next movie. After celebrating the premiere of Avengers: End Game, Vin had a teaser for his fans in this video he posted:
51-year-old Diesel remembered Paul in the video as well. Here’s what he said in the video:
“As you know I’m always thinking fast and I think about the responsibility of making something iconic and deserving of your loyalty. I know this sounds crazy but every blue moon I feel like Pablo up there sends me someone, another soldier for the fight for truth and today someone came by the Toretto gym that speaks to what Pablo would have brought. All love, always.”
The post is probably a very clear hint that John Cena will be a part of Fast and Furious 9, which is set to release in 2020. It is also exciting as the franchise is set to release their first spin-off – Hobbs and Shaw on August 2nd.
Rumour has it that there has been an alleged feud between Vin Diesel and The Rock, which means that they might not share the same screen again. Many are also speculating that this feud has led to the inclusion of John Cena in the film.
