The Golden Era of WWE comprised of stars like Big Show, The Undertaker, Triple H, Kane, The Rock, John Cena and Batista. One by one, each of them made their exit from the ring to pursue other things but this sport remains as enjoyable as ever.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, as we know, has established quite a name in Hollywood; Kane is the mayor of his city, and John Cena recently made the news for being cast as the new host of the Nickelodeon show “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?” and following The Rock’s footsteps by establishing a successful career in Hollywood too.
But it seems like the “You Can’t See Me” hunk does not plan on returning to the WWE ring anytime soon. Fans were excited after his surprise cameo in last month’s WrestleMania 35 but Cena has made it clear that WWE does not really need him anymore.
“The WWE does not need me. I need it and I love it, and I love every single moment I’m associated with it,” Cena said. “But I felt it the first time this year at WrestleMania: I took a step back and looked at everything and (realized) it is such a powerful machine.”
“I’m older now,” Cena added. “I just turned 42, I watch WWE on a regular basis and the talent is getting faster and more precise. I think I would have left the WWE high and dry, so to speak, [but] now they have so much talent and so many definable Superstars,” Cena said. “There was a time when I could genuinely say, from a financial standpoint, they needed me — that time is up.”
