We have all enjoyed WWE as children. From signature moves to iconic entries, each of us has at least once tried to imitate the actions of our favourite wrestlers. Now, we can wrestle it out on our smartphones with the new WWE Universe mobile game, available on iOS and Android for free.
The game has been developed in partnership with Glu Mobile and the developers have promised that this will be one of the “most authentic” WWE experiences yet. The game released on 28 May and has already garnered a great amount of attention. Players can fight as different WWE superstars in ongoing storylines and live-action multiplayer modes. What’s more, the music, chants from the audience and realistic moves add to the virtual experience of playing the game. WWE Universe features over 240 superstars, including current roster members like Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch. Players will also be able to see WWE legends such as The Rock and Andre the Giant.

Ahead of the release, WWE Universe created just enough excitement among fans and pre-registered players by releasing sneak peeks and certain features of the game.
The following press release was issued on wwe.com regarding the game:
“In WWE Universe, players will guide a team of Superstars and WWE Legends into battles fueled by ongoing storylines and live-action multiplayer modes. Players can take charge with simple, one-touch tap controls that trigger a Superstar’s signature moves in a bout featuring authentic maneuvers, chants, music and more.
“Those who guide their Superstar teams to victory in daily, weekly or special events will see their efforts reflected in exclusive in-game rewards and on the WWE Universe leaderboard tracking the achievements.”
Glu signed a multi-year deal with WWE to develop games based on the brand in 2017. WWE already has a presence on mobile with titles like SuperCard, a digital card game with millions of players.
